Every week I try to put one release ahead of the pile, and this week it is Dead Gun from 7Rings Gaming, a high volatility western slot that kept pulling me back in for one more spin.
What got me was not the theme alone, though a ghost-ridden frontier with spirits guiding every gunfight is a fun setting. It was the 5×5 grid actually doing something with that setup. Dead Gun runs on 20 paylines with a 96.09% RTP, a hit frequency of 27.46%, and a max win of 20,000 times the stake, and the mechanic behind those numbers is what kept me at the reels longer than I planned.
The Revolver Mechanic Is the Reason I Stuck Around
Guns drop onto the grid carrying bullets that set a fixed multiplier value, and every shot fired boosts the active spin. What I liked is that each gun does not just sit there, it shifts down one row on the next spin and keeps firing until it finally drops off the grid. Wilds only show up when a shot lands, and if a bullet hits a Wild that is already there, the two multiplier values combine. There is a real sense of a gun earning its keep before it disappears, rather than a modifier that just resets every spin.
The Drum Kept the Bonus Round Interesting
Landing three or more scatters opens the main bonus round, and that is where the Drum symbol comes in. It only appears there, and the moment a bullet hits it, it converts into a Wild and pushes every active Wild, gun and multiplier position up a row, adding one extra free spin in the process. A couple of well-placed Drum hits and the round starts chaining in a way that felt genuinely earned rather than scripted.
If You Want to Skip Ahead
7Rings gives players three paid routes into the feature, a straight buy that guarantees scatters land, a Game Booster that raises the odds of high-multiplier gun symbols, and an FS Booster that multiplies the chance of triggering the bonus by five. I tend to play the base game out first, since the Revolver mechanic is half the fun, but all three are there if you want to get to the good part faster.
Where It Sits Next to Necro Party
7Rings’ other recent release, Necro Party, is a different kind of game entirely. It is rated medium volatility against Dead Gun’s high, caps out at 10,000x rather than 20,000x, and instead of a moving mechanic it locks its value to one spot on the grid, a Pentagram that traps a Wild in place and raises its multiplier by 1 every time another Pentagram Wild lands. Necro Party rewards patience on a single position. Dead Gun rewards watching a gun work its way down the reels before it is gone, and that is the one I keep coming back to.
