Kalshi partners with Genius Sports for official data and integrity services

Prediction market platform Kalshi has followed rival Polymarket in signing a partnership with Genius Sports, securing access to official sports data, marketing services and integrity monitoring for its platform.

The deal, announced one day after Genius Sports struck a similar partnership with Polymarket, marks the second major agreement between the sports data provider and the emerging prediction markets space.

Unlike the Polymarket arrangement, the Kalshi deal does not appear to include exclusive streaming rights. However, it gave Genius Sports shareholders a second consecutive boost, with the NYSE-listed company’s stock jumping over 4.3% to $8.40 when trading opened, from $8.05 at Tuesday’s close. Pre-market trading had seen shares reach as high as $8.60, before stabilizing around $8.25.

Real-time football data across five leagues

Under the agreement, Genius Sports will provide Kalshi with real-time official data across its football portfolio, covering the English Premier League, Serie A, Liga MX, Argentine Primera División and French Ligue 1.

The data will serve as a verified source for settling sports prediction market contracts, with the companies stating that official information will improve transparency and reduce reliance on unofficial or delayed data.

“Prediction markets will scale on a foundation of trusted, fast and accurate data, reliable technology and robust integrity services, and that is exactly where Genius Sports is uniquely positioned,” said Sean Conroy, EVP of Rights and Partnerships at Genius Sports.

Integrity measures and insider trading scrutiny

The partnership includes information-sharing measures intended to strengthen sports integrity. Kalshi will participate in Genius’ information-sharing processes, while certain market types will be restricted and visibility into market activity enhanced.

The integrity focus follows allegations of insider trading on Kalshi. The company reportedly tightened its rules around insider trading earlier this year in response to scrutiny.

The deal also arrives as Kalshi faces a lawsuit in New York alleging illegal gambling, with damages sought at $36 billion.

Marketing and audience growth

Beyond data and integrity services, Genius Sports will support Kalshi’s audience growth through marketing services, including its Legend-owned media properties. Genius Sports completed a $1.2 billion acquisition of Legends in May.

“As the prediction market ecosystem continues to expand at a rapid pace, the use of official data and integrity services is more important than ever,” said Adam Barrick, Head of Sports Partnerships at Kalshi. “We’re proud to partner with Genius Sports, with their proven track record in providing the highest quality sports data and working alongside leagues to protect the transparency of sporting competitions.”

With both Kalshi and Polymarket now signed, Genius Sports has secured partnerships with the two dominant platforms in the prediction markets space. Whether the company’s share price surge continues may become clearer when Genius Sports releases its Q2 results tomorrow before the NYSE opens, offering the first look at the initial impact of the Legends acquisition.
