Super Technologies, the operator of Superbet, has promoted ten-year company veteran Andrei Popa to lead its Romanian business, allowing the firm’s regional commercial chief to concentrate on expansion across Central and Eastern Europe.
Popa takes the role of General Manager for Romania after three years as VP of Online and later VP of Commercial. He will report to Adam Lamentowicz, Super’s Chief Commercial Officer for Central and Eastern Europe, who is delegating the Romanian strategy to focus more on business growth in Poland, Serbia, and Greece.
The appointment keeps Romania’s strategic direction under an executive who has worked closely with Lamentowicz since 2022 and who oversaw the company’s transition to a multi-brand network from its original single Superbet brand.
Popa’s responsibilities during that period included managing the expansion to a portfolio that now includes Napoleon Games, Superscore, and Maxbet, as well as the corporate rebranding to Super Technologies.
Retail and online footprint
In his new role, Popa will be responsible for sustaining performance in what Super calls one of its most complex markets. Romania is both a core market for the group and one where it operates a large network of retail shops alongside its online offering.
“Ten years ago, I joined a company that was building something genuinely ambitious in a market that many underestimated,” Popa said. “Today, we have built a four-brand ecosystem in Romania, powered by the Super Technologies engine, and we firmly believe there is still substantial room for growth.”
He said his focus will be on making Romania the market where Super’s “boldest ideas come to life first,” building capabilities to gather customer insights that improve products and creating experiences that can be used across the group’s global markets.
Background
Popa brings 16 years of experience across technology and entertainment sectors, ten of which have been with Super. Outside the company, he founded Data Talks, a Romanian community for data analytics professionals that organizes one of the country’s largest annual business intelligence conferences.
Lamentowicz has previously described Central and Eastern Europe as a region that “already had a passion and legacy of talent in various sports,” creating foundations for stable betting markets.
Super Technologies operates across Romania, Poland, Serbia, and Greece, with Romania remaining its home market and original base of operations.
